The Advisory Board

The Advisory Board is composed of the Pastor, Deacons, Trustees, Clerk, Treasurer, Overseers of Women's Ministries and one member at large for each fifty members, or fraction thereof. Members at large are elected by the congregation for a term of one year, and may serve two consecutive terms.

Duties

  • Hear reports from each of the committees listed below.
    • Worship and Music Committee
    • Outreach and Planning Committee
    • Education Committee
    • Finance Committee
    • Other committees, which may be formed as deemed necessary.
  • Provide overall direction for the work and business of the church, and make recommendations to the church at its annual, quarterly, or special business meetings, as the Board may deem advisable.
  • Elect chairmen of the standing committees, except the Nominating Committee, from within the Advisory Board and approve the selection of the committee members.
  • Under the direction of the Vice-moderator, serve as or appoint a committee to annually review and evaluate the ministry of the pastoral staff.
  • Under the direction of the Vice-moderator, serve as, or appoint a committee to annually review the financial compensation for the pastoral staff and make a recommendation to the Finance Committee concerning the next year's compensation.
